Care, Use and Installations for Your Cultured Marble Products

WARNING: Do not use Plumbers Putty with Imperial Marble Products. The plumbers putty reacts with the gelcaot and causes it to crack. If you have any questions contact customer service.

NORMAL CLEANING/STAIN REMOVAL:

SATIN/MATTE FINISH: Imperial’s matte finished surfaces are non-porous and protected by a gel coat layer that is impervious to most staining agents so they may be easily wiped clean using a non-abrasive cleaner. An ammonia-based cleaner such as Windex™ or Glass Plus™ will work well for routine cleaning. On stubborn stains and cigarette burns, you may dry sand with 120 or 200-grit sandpaper.

GLOSS FINISH: NEVER use any type of abrasive cleaner on your gloss finish. Abrasive cleaners will dull the shine and may cause stains. Always clean with a soft cloth or paper towel.

REPAIRING SCRATCHES:

SATIN/MATTE FINISH: To keep your finish looking like new, occasionally rub your matte-finished product with a Scotch–Brite™ pad alone. All other scratches or stains can be removed by wet sanding with a 600-grit wet/dry sandpaper.

GLOSS FINISH: To restore luster and repair minor scratches, use car wax or any automotive polishing compound. Buff with a soft cloth after application. Although Imperial Marble is highly impact-resistant, heavy or pointed objects striking the surface can damage the surface resulting in the need for a professional repair.

PREVENTING DAMAGE TO IMPERIAL MARBLE PRODUCTS:

1. Imperial products are extremely stain-resistant and durable, however, some strong chemicals such as stain removers, drain cleaners, nail polish removers (acetone), chlorine bleach, hair color and other strong acidic liquids can damage the surface if left standing. If these spills occur, flush the surface with soapy water and then clean as normal.
2. Do not permit heavy or pointed objects to strike the surface of the product.
3. Although Imperial Marble withstands heat extremely well, and cigarette burns are easily removed, do not place hot irons, curling irons, cigarettes etc, on the surface of the marble. This could cause damage deep enough to require a professional refinisher.
4. Imperial Marble products are not to be used as a “cutting board”. Minor scratches may be easily repaired, but deep cuts will require a professional refinisher.

SATIN STONE:

The surface of this material is renewable. It can be cleaned using an abrasive cleaner. Restore luster using a car wax or automotive polishing compound.
